Join us for an evening of science and discovery, nocturnal style.  Become a citizen scientist for the evening and monitor a bat roost (where they rest during the day and raise their young) in Kaslo Bay as part of the Kootenay Community Bat Project.  In the twilight, you will safely watch and experience the bats feeding on insects on the bay, demonstrating their amazing hunting skills and learn why bats are truly extraordinary and unique creatures.  But bats are difficult to see, and even harder to hear, right?  In fact, humans can’t hear their calls at all, but we will show you how you can actually “hear” them, and you will be amazed at what happens outside your window at night without you even realizing.  The night is loud for those who listen…..
