Discover the latest enhancements in Timely’s March software update. From advanced ticket point of sales to an improved event submission experience, these updates optimize your event planning and management processes.

1. Point of Sales for Paid Events: Selling Tickets through the Dashboard

As seen on the February 2025 Product Update, the new Point of Sales feature enables users to issue tickets to free events directly from the dashboard without switching to their calendar’s public interface. From advanced ticket point of sales to an improved event submission experience, we designed these updates to optimize your event planning and management processes. 

This feature now extends beyond free registrations to include paid tickets! By integrating the Point of Sale system within the dashboard, event organizers can streamline ticket management, reduce friction in the sales process, and enhance the customer experience.

The system also supports credit card machine integration via Stripe, making payment processing faster and more secure. Users can access the Point of Sales system within the Ticketing menu on their dashboard. Then, select the event, and process payments on the spot. For those using Stripe, credit card terminals can be linked on the General Settings of the calendar to accept in-person payments. 

We are also planning to expand the Point of Sale system by integrating additional payment gateways in the near future. If you have a preferred payment provider, please reach out to us so we can evaluate potential integration options.

2. New Event Submission Form Layout Option

The event submission process has been redesigned to enhance user experience. The new form option appears in a full-screen pop-up. These changes improve usability by organizing form fields into logical and collapsable sections, ensuring a smoother event submission process. Moreover, the new layout reduces clutter and enhances user engagement.

Switching to the new form layout is simple. If you’d like to enable it, go to the Community Events menu, then Settings, and select Form Layout to activate the new design.

3. Expanded Email Notifications for Calendar Users

Authors and Editors can now receive email notifications regarding RSVPs, ticket purchases, and event submissions, a feature previously limited to Administrators. Additionally, various interface refinements have been implemented to enhance usability.

Admins can configure email notification settings for Authors and Editors within the My Account menu on the dashboard.

Expanding email notifications allows more users to stay informed and engaged in event management. Interface refinements contribute to a smoother user experience, reducing friction and improving workflow efficiency.
