This month’s updates focus on giving administrators more control over wait list access, membership billing, and event documentation. We’ve expanded waiting list controls, added tax support for membership plans, and made document uploads available in the event creation flow.
Here’s what’s new:
- Waiting List exclusive access — Restrict purchases to eligible waiting list users.
- Membership tax options — Apply one or more taxes to Membership plans.
- Document uploads now available for Events — Collect and request files during event creation.
1. Waiting List Exclusive Access
The waiting list can now work as an access gate for ticket purchases. When the new Waiting List Exclusive Access setting is enabled, only eligible waiting list users can complete a purchase when spots become available.
To configure Waiting List Exclusive Access:
- Open an event and go to Cost and Tickets
- Enable the Waiting List
- Turn on Waiting List Exclusive Access
- Configure the notification mode and hold window
This update also adds new converted and unsubscribed statuses, improved conversion analytics, and a new waitlist expiration notice automated notification for users who do not complete a purchase before the hold window closes.
2. Tax Options for Membership Plans
You can now assign one or more taxes to Membership plans. The system automatically calculates taxes at checkout and displays a clear tax breakdown to members during purchase.
Tax data is also reflected in Membership Orders and Reports, helping teams keep billing records accurate and easier to reconcile.
To apply taxes to Membership plans:
- Go to Settings > Tax Options and create your taxes
- Open a Membership plan
- Select one or more taxes to apply to the plan
- Save your changes
For more guidance explore our membership management module guides.
3. New Document Upload Fields for Events
The Document custom field type, previously available only on Community Events and Bookings, is now available for Events.
Administrators can add document upload fields to the Event creation flow to collect contracts, permits, supporting materials, or other required files in a structured way.
To configure document uploads for Events:
- Go to Configuration Dashboard > Events > Settings > Custom Fields
- Add a new custom field and select the Document type
- Configure the label, required status, visibility, and destination folder
- Save your changes
Uploaded files appear on the Event screen and Event preview with a download link. External users can also download the document from Public Event Details when the field is not hidden.
The Document Library now shows which custom field question each file belongs to, helping teams keep event documents organized across records.
Product Update: July 2026
The July 2026 Product Updates help simplify ticket access, membership billing, and event documentation. These updates give administrators more control over who can purchase from the waiting list, how taxes are applied to membership plans, and how required files are collected during event creation.
