Our February 2025 Product Update introduces powerful enhancements that improve event and venue management. This month, we’re rolling out a streamlined point of sales for free registrations, advanced space booking limits, enhanced My Events area allowing submitters to cancel their previously submitted events, and a new option for administrator email notifications. These updates make Timely’s platform more efficient and flexible, giving users better tools to manage events and reservations. Let’s dive into the details!
1. Point of Sales for Free Registrations: New Beta Feature
Organizers can now register attendees to free events directly through the dashboard, eliminating the need to switch to the public view. Furthermore, this update streamlines RSVP management by allowing administrators to handle registrations efficiently from a single interface.
This enhancement is particularly useful for on-site attendee management for free events. Event staff can quickly register new attendees at the door and process last-minute walk-ins with ease. Whether adding guests manually or updating attendee details, this feature ensures a seamless attendee experience while reducing administrative hassle.
COMING SOON! The next phase of this feature will introduce payment processing via terminal integration, enabling organizers to handle on-site ticket sales transactions directly within Timely’s platform. This enhancement will provide greater flexibility for on-site ticket sales, making payments faster and more convenient for both organizers and attendees.
2. Submitter Control Over Event Cancellations
Event submitters now have the ability to cancel their own submitted events, giving them greater autonomy over their event listings. Previously, only calendar administrators had this capability, requiring manual intervention to remove a previously submitted event.
With this update, event submitters can manage their listings more efficiently within the My Events area. Consequently, this reduces the administrative burden on calendar managers and improves the overall user experience.
To allow all submitters to cancel events:
- Log in to your Timely account.
- Go to Community Events and select the Settings tab.
- Check the option "Allow submitters to cancel their events."
- Click Save to apply the changes.
To enable this feature for a specific submitter:
- Log in to your Timely account.
- Go to Community Events and select the Submitters tab.
- Open the submitter’s profile.
- Enable the event cancellation option.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
3. Space Booking Limits by User Type
Administrators can now set limits on the number of upcoming space reservations based on user type, whether internal (system users) or external (submitters).
This feature enhances venue management by ensuring fair usage of spaces, preventing overbooking, and giving administrators more control over resource allocation. By customizing reservation limits, organizations can balance availability between different user groups and improve operational efficiency.
This update is particularly useful for educational institutions, corporate offices, and community centers that manage high-demand spaces and need to regulate access equitably.
4. Disable RSVP Booking Request Email Notifications for Admin Users
To provide administrators with more flexibility in managing notifications, we have introduced a new setting. Allowing them to turn off email notifications for RSVP booking requests related to their events.
Previously, calendar administrators would receive booking request emails by default, which could result in email overload for those managing multiple events. With this update, administrators can choose whether they want to receive these notifications or monitor requests directly from the dashboard.
This improvement ensures that administrators only receive the notifications they find most useful. Therefore, reducing unnecessary email clutter while maintaining full oversight of booking requests.
